Billy smiled and managed to hold himself back. He wanted to tell Mark the feeling was mutual, in a way. He'd been on the brink of either just rolling over and letting Higgins do whatever he wanted and just out-right quitting, even if it meant violating his contract. Which would mean giving up all rights to his music and resigning himself to living with basically nothing, because a clause in his contract still prevented him from working with other labels for a number of years. But now? Now he had the strength and inspiration to keep going, and keep fighting.

He glanced at the number before shoving it into his pocket. "Thanks, Mark," he tried to sound neutral about it. "I can't make any promises, but I'll see what I can do."
